Special features on the Colors

Fans have waited a very long time for Krzysztof Kieslowski’s Color Trilogy to make the leap to DVD. Now it looks like the wait will be worthwhile with a bevy of extra features being added to the upcoming releases from Miramax Home Video.

Starting off with Bleu, extras include an audio commentary with film historian Annette Insdorf as well as selected scenes commentaries wjtb Marin Karmitz, Jacques Witta and Juliette Binoche. Several featurettes including Reflections on Bleu, A Dischussion with Kieslowski’s Early Years, A Conversation with Juliette Binoche on Kieslowski and Krzysztof Kieslowski Cinema Lesson will be on the disc as will the original theatrical trailers and a Kieslowski filmography.

Next Blanc will also feature commentary from Insdorf and interviews and selected scene commentary with Karmitz and actor Julie Delpy. The featurettes on this disc include A Look at Blanc, A Discussion on Kieslowski’s Later Years, A Conversation with Julie Delpy on Kieslowski, Krzysztof Kieslowski’s Cinema Lesson and Behind the Scenes of White with Krzysztof Kieslowski. Again, tne theatrical trailer and filmography will be included.

Finally, Rouge will contain commentary from Insdorf and selected commentary from actor Irene Jacob plus an interview with Marin Karmitz. The several featurettes here include Insights into Trois Coleurs: Rouge, A Discussion on Working With Kieslowski, A Conversation with Irene Jacob on Kieslowski, Krzysztof Kielowski’s Cinema Lesson, Behind the Scenes with Krzysztof Kieslowski and Red at Cannes 1994. The obligatory original theatrical trrailers and filmography will be included here.

All three films will be available in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Surround 2.0 audio tracks in the original French as well as in English. The discs will be available on March 4th, 2003.
