Here is MGM Home Entertainment’s complete September line-up

Only a few weeks ago, we were able to give you an early outlook on MGM Home Entertainment’s August release line-up, which was making up part of their Halloween releases. Today, we have been able to obtain detailed information about the studio’s September DVD line-up and as we had expected, more horror films are on their way, just in time for a great Halloween celebration. But also a few summer hits are part of this release list. All titles contain the movie’s theatrical trailer as the only extra, unless otherwise noted.

On September 5 we will see the release of some classic beach fun. MGM Home Entertainment has scheduled Beach Party for release with a 16×9 enhanced transfer as well as a full frame presentation and a mono audio track. Then there is Bikini Beach, coming in a non-anamorphic widescreen presentation and a full frame transfer with a mono audio track, and Pajama Party, also coming as a release featuring a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and a full frame presentation of the movie with a mono audio track.

Also scheduled for September 5 is Heavy Traffic, a true-life story presented as a feast of eye-popping animation, comes in a full screen presentation with an English Dolby Stereo track.

The black comedy Stranger Than Paradise is also scheduled for September 5, featuring a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and a mono audio track, as well as some “Behind-the-scenes” footage.

On the horrific side of things, MGM Home Entertainment is bringing you the haunted house nightmare, The Amityville Horror on September 5. Sadly the release comes featuring only a non-anamorphic widescreen transfer and a full frame presentation of the movie with English and Spanish audio tracks in Dolby Stereo. Sadly no additional features, other than the obligatory trailer will be part of the release. Not even a trailer will be found on MGM’s release of A Bucket Of Blood, a semi-spoof of dead-bodies-in-the-was-museum movie, which will be released in a full frame version only with a mono audio track.

On September 19 MGM Home Entertainment will unleash a second wave of DVD titles, featuring a mix of action and horror films. Dillinger, the story of a notorious gangster, squaring off against an FBI agent in an explosive crime thriller, will be released with a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and an English mono audio track.

The 1986 action film The Delta Force and its 1990 sequel, Delta Force 2, starring Chuck Norris, will also be released on September 19, but sadly, both movies will be presented in fullframe presentations only on the respective DVDs, featuring stereo audio tracks.

For fans of the horror genre, MGM has also prepared the 1972 eco-horror-thriller Frogs, starring Ray Milland and Sam Elliott, for release on September 19. The DVD will contain a 16×9 enhanced widescreen version as well as a fullframe transfer and a mono audio track in English and Spanish.

To round this release list off, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Basil Rathbone are haunting, harrowing and horrifically hip as they mix it up in Tales Of Terror, a trilogy of terror based on tales by Edgar Allen Poe. The DVD will also contain a 16×9 enhanced widescreen version and a fullframe transfer of the movie and feature a mono audio track.

As we mentioned above, all discs will contain the respective movie’s theatrical trailer as the only supplements. It appears that MGM Home Entertainment is also no longer adding their small booklets to these releases. More detailed information about these titles can be found in our Film Vault, as soon as the titles have been added to the release lists.
