Fox presents The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg

You don’t have to be a sports fan to know the names Al Kaline or Joe DiMaggio, but slightly less famous is the name of Hank Greenberg. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has taken it upon themselves to correct this oversight of the American public with a new DVD release of The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg this autumn.

Hammerin’ Hank Greenberg’s career during the Golden Age of Baseball contains all the makings of a true American success story. As an extraordinary ball player, whose accomplishment’s rivaled those of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, Greenberg’s career was an inspiration to all and captured the headlines and admiration of sportwriters and fans alike. “The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg ” is the humorous and nostalgic true story of how he became a beacon of hope as a true American hero.

“The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg” DVD contains commentary by director Aviva Kempner and Yiddish subtitles. Additionally, the disc features the original theatrical trailer, outtake interviews with Walter Matthau and Michael Moriarty, a comprehensive Hank Greenberg biography and baseball stats, and a still photo gallery.

The story of Hank Greenberg is a fascinating one, and will become much more accessible when the DVD hits shelves on October 16th. The disc will carry a suggested retail price of $29.98.
