Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just added the horror film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark to their roster, scheduling the movie for release on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in January.

Sally, a young girl, moves to Rhode Island to live with her father and his new girlfriend in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own.

The DVD versionwill feature the movie in an anamorphic widescreen presentation with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. As extras you will find the Featurettes ”The Story,” “Blackwood’s Mansion” and ”The Creatures” on the disc.

On the Blu-Ray version you will get to witness a 1080p high definition presentation with high definition audio. This version will also include the Featurettes ”The Story,” “Blackwood’s Mansion” and ”The Creatures” as extras.

“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” will be in stores on January 7 for $30.99 on DVD and $35.99 on Blu-Ray Disc.
