The Lord of the Rings has long been anticipated on Blu-ray, but the wait will be over in April. All three films will be arriving from New Line Home Entertainment, but it might not be everything you’ve been hoping for.
The films will come together in a nine disc set containing each of the films in their theatrical presentation. Seven hours of supplements (likely culled from the DVD set) will also come to the set, but on standard definition DVDs. An added sting will be advertisements on the disc for the extended cuts which will be coming at a future date.
For those who need Lord of the Rings right away, the set will arrive on April 6th.
