Lionsgate has announced they will begin a new StudioCanal Collection a collection of classic titles with attention to the filmmaking process. The collection – which will likely bring comparisons to the Criterion Collection – will begin wit Ran, The Ladykillers and Contempt.

Ran will contain a feature lenght documentary on the film and a second documentary on Kurosawa and a third on Samurai art. Interviews, BD-Live and a booklet will round out the release.

The Ladykillers will include an introduction with Terru Gilliam, a documentary on Ealing Studios, audio commentary with Phillip Kemp and interviews. BD-Live and a book are also included in this release.

Contempt will include an introduction with Colin MacCabe, several documentaries, a discussion between Godard and Fritz Lang, a trailer, BD-Live and a book.

All three titles will kick off the collection on February 16th.
