Universal unleashes Unglorious Basterds in December
Fans of Quentin Tarantino’s work will be happy to hear that Universal Home Entertainment has scheduled his latest movie Inglorious Basterds for release on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in December.
Brad Pitt shines as the bodacious American commander of a lethal team of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” – whose exploits in occupied France strike terror in the hearts of the German rank and file and enrage the German High Command. The acclaimed cast also includes Christoph Waltz, who was named Best Actor at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival for his unforgettable performance as a charming but cunning Nazi officer, B.J. Novak (“The Office”), Diane Kruger (National Treasure), Eli Roth (director of Hostel), Mélanie Laurent (Paris), and Michael Fassbender (The Bourne Ultimatum).
A single-disc DVD version of the film will feature the movie with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and a selection of Deleted Scenes. Also included on this version is Nation’s Pride, the film seen in the film, in its entirety. The movie’s Trailers will also be included.
The 2-disc Special Edition Version will feature all of the above, but on the additional disc you will also find a Roundtable Discussion with Quentin Tarantino, Brad Pitt and film historian/critic Elvis Mitchell. The Making of Nation’s Pride will be found here, too, as well as the Featurette “The Original Inglorious Bastards,” a salute to the original 1978 film. Looks also for A Conversation with veteran actor Rod Taylor and Rod Taylor on Victoria Bitters, the Australian beer. Further adding to the materials will be the Featurette “Quentin Tarantino’s Camera Angel” and a Film Poster Gallery Tour with Elvis Mitchell, as well as a Poster Gallery. A Gag Reel and Digital Copy wilr round out this release.
The Blu-Ray Disc version will feature a 1080p high definition version of the movie with a DTS 5.1 HD Master audio track and complete with all of the above bonus materials. In addition the disc will contain BD Live features.
“Glorious Basterds” will blast into stores on December 15 for $29.98 on DVD, $34.98 on 2-disc DVD and $39.98. on Blu-Ray Disc.
