There’s going to be a cook-out with Julie & Julia in December

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just added the comedy Julie & Julia to their release line-up, scheduling the film for DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in December.

A culinary legend provides a frustrated office worker with a new recipe for life in Julie & Julia, the true stories of how Julia Child’s (Meryl Streep) life and cookbook inspired fledgling writer Julie Powell (Amy Adams) to whip up 524 recipes in 365 days and introduce a new generation to the magic of French cooking.

Sony Pictures will dish out Nora Ephron’s delicious comedy on DVD with an anamorphic widescreen presentation and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The disc will also contain a Commentary Track by Writer/Director Nora Ephron and the Featurette ”Secret Ingredients: Creating Julie & Julia”.

The Blu-Ray version offers up a 1080p high definition transfer and spices it up with high definition audio track. This version will be stuffed with bonus materials, including the Commentary Track by Writer/Director Nora Ephron and the Featurettes ”Family & Friends Remember Julia Child,” “Julia’s Kitchen” and ”Secret Ingredients: Creating Julie & Julia”.

Further you will find some original segments on the disc, such as Poaching Eggs with Julia Child & Jacques Pépin and Making Hollandaise Sauce with Julia Child & Jacques Pépin, as well as Mark Peel prepares Scrambled Eggs and Suzanne Goin prepares Braised Beef Short Ribs and Steven Lewandowski & Drew Nieporent Prepare Butter Poached Maine Lobster. The disc will be rounded out by sony’s movieIQ trivia track.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will take the lid off “Julie & Julia” on December 8 and offer it for $28.96 on DVD and $39.98 on Blu-Ray Disc. Bon appétit!
