Mel Brooks goes blu

Mel Brooks provided decades of comedy and now the larger part of his contributions to cinema are coming together on Blu-ray from Fox.

The new nine disc Blu-ray set contains Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, To Be or Not to Be, Twelve Chairs, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, History of the World, Part 1, Spaceballs and Robin Hood Men in Tights. These are the same films from the existing Mel Brooks DVD set with the additional inclusion of Spaceballs.

Little is known about any supplements, but the box set will be an unusually shaped box which contains each film in a sleeve (so no individual cases for the films). The set includes all of Brooks’ films except Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Life Stinks and The Producers.

The set will arrive on December 15th with a suggested retail price of $139.99.
