Zilla has yet another release date

It’s been swimming around for almost 2 years now, on and off the release schedules, but today Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just added a new release date to Roland Emmerich’s 1988 Godzilla on Blu-Ray Disc.

Following the French atomic bomb tests in the South Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted passing westward through the Panama Canal. Scientist Niko Tatopolous is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, irradiated lizard has been created by the explosions. Godzilla then makes its way north, landing at Manhattan to begin wreaking havoc in the big city. Even with the combined forces of the U.S. military to fight the monster, will it be enough to save the people of New York?

The film will be presented in a 1080p widescreen transfer and feature a DTS 5.1 HD Master Audio track. The release will be stacked with bonus materials, such as All Time Best Of Godzilla Fight Scenes and the Featurette ” Behind the Scenes of Godzilla with Charles Caiman”. Further you will find a Visual Effects Commentary on the release, as well as The Ultimate Godzilla Trivia Game and the “Heroes” Music Video by The Wallflowers. The feature movieIQ will round out the release.

“Godzilla” will stomp into New York on November 3 according to Sony’s current plans, for $28.95.
