Lionsgate sends in the Bad Lieutenant

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is preparing a new DVD version of the gritty cop thriller Bad Lieutenant for release in July.

He has survived on the streets for twenty years. He’s a gambler…a thief…a junkie…a killer and a cop. Now he’s investigating the most shocking case of his life, and as he moves closer to the truth his self-destructive past in closing in. Harvey Keitel gives a searing performance as an out-of-control police detective on a collision course with disaster in director Abel Ferrara’s brilliant and deeply disturbing melodrama.

The DVD will feature a widescreen presentation of the film with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. As extras the release will feature a Commentary Track by Director Abel Ferrara and Director of Photography Ken Kelsch and a Retrospective Documentary.

“Bad Lieutenant” will arrive in stores on July 28 for $19.98.
