The HDMI 1.4 specifications have just come out, and although the details have been essentially known for some time, it’s nice to get official confirmation.

Among the highlights of the 1.4 spec: ethernet over HDMI for networking purposes, simultenuos 1080p streams for future 3D support, an audio return channel and 4k x 2k resolution. One of the more controversial aspects of the standard is a new micro connector which will be incompatible with existing ports.
