We just got word in from Paramount Home Entertainment that the studio is preparing a very cool BD Live feature for Star Trek: The Original Series: Season 1, which has been released this week.

The BD Live feature, available only on Blu-Ray Disc, of course, will give you exclusive event coverage from the upcoming Star Trek fan convention FEDCON. The convention in Germany features appearances from many stars of the Star Trek universe including Nichelle Nichols (Captain Uhura) from the classic Star Trek series. More than 5,000 fans will get together in Bonn to celebrate their favorite series over the weekend. All fans are also invited to post their private pictures and comments at CBS’s new website dedicated to BD-Live at: www.cbs-bdlive.com

Just as this instance shows, BD Live can be an incredibly powerful feature in which fans can get access to bonus materials even after a title has been released, without having to compromise on quality. For us that is clearly another good reason to lay your hands this incredible release.
