A visit to The Office is imminent

Universal Home Entertainment has just unveiled details about the upcoming release of The Office: The Complete Season Five, scheduled to hit stores in September on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc.

The latest season of the ultimate workplace comedy finds the employees of fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin enmeshed in surprise office hook-ups, break ups, romantic triangles and new business ventures. In a subversively funny look at corporate life, self-important, insensitive regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) still thinks he’s the best boss ever—despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary! As Michael leaves the security of Dunder Mifflin and strikes out on his own, Andy (Ed Helms) and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) do battle for Angela’s (Angela Kinsey) affections, and Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) finally plan their long awaited nuptials.

The DVD version will feature a 1.78:1 widescreen presentation of the show with Dolby Digital audio. As extras, the release will contain Episode Commentaries with cast and crew members, as well as over Three Hours of Deleted Scenes. Further you will find a Gag Reel on the release as well as Four Webisodes, Promos and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Presents The Office.

The Blu-Ray version will feature a 1080p high definition transfer of the show in its full 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio, complemented by a DTS 5.1 HD Master Audio track. In addition to all the bonus materials found on the DVD version also, this version will further include a BD Live feature, giving you access to additional content over the Internet, as well as One-Liner Soundboard, a feature that allow the user to string together one-liners and quotes from the show to create your own character audio mix that you can share with friends via BD Live.

“The Office: The Complete Season Five” hits retail stores on September 8 for $59.98 on DVD and $69.98 on Blu-Ray.

In addition, Universal will also release a Seasons 1 – 5 Collection for $199.99 on the same day, giving fans the chance to own the entire series in one fell swoop.
