Ghosts Of Mars arrives in high definition

John Carpenter’s much maligned scifi thriller Ghosts Of Mars is going through the last stages for its Blu-Ray Disc release in late March from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Melanie Ballard (Natasha Henstridge) is a headstrong police lieutenant on Mars in the year 2025. Humans have been colonizing and mining on the red planet for some time, but when Ballard and her squad are sent to a remote region to apprehend the dangerous criminal James “Desolation” Williams, played by Ice Cube (Three Kings), they discover that he’s the least of their worries. The mining operations have unleashed a deadly army of Martian spirits who take over the bodies of humans and won’t stop until they destroy all invaders of their planet.

The release will offer a 1080p high definition transfer of the movie with Dolby Digital audio. As bonus materials the release will also contain he original DVD supplements, such as the Commentary Track featuring Director John Carpenter and Natasha Henstridge, as well as the Video Diary ”Red Desert Nights”.
