January will be the month of The Rocker

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just stuck a release date on their DVD and Blu-Ray Disc versions of the comedy The Rocker, letting the groove out of the bag in January.

Twenty years after being kicked out of his nearly famous ’80s hair band, Robert “Fish” Fishman (Wilson) finds himself trapped in a dead-end office job and living with his sister’s family. But when opportunity rocks, Fish gets a hilarious second chance at stardom, and without missing a beat, the desperate drummer vows to reclaim the rock-god throne he always thought he deserved!

The DVD version will arrive as a Born To Rock 2-disc edition that presents the movie in anamorphic widescreen with 5.1 Dolby Digital audio. It will also include a Digital Copy of the movie and Two Commentary Tacks featuring the director and the actors. Also included are Deleted Scenes and a Gag Reel, plus a number of Featurettes with titles such as “Rainn Wilson: Office Rocker,” “Behind The Band: Vesuvius,” “Rock Beat With Fish Fishman,” “The Music of The Rocker” and “Rock Tales.” also included is an Interview with former Beatles drummer Pete Best, and an MTV Film Festival Panel. The release is rounded out by Fox Movie Channel Presents…In Character With The Rocker and the “I’m Not Bitter” Music Video, as well as Podcasts and Vesuvius Public Service Announcements.

The Blu-Ray version will offer a 1080p high definition transfer, dished out with with a DTS 5.1 HD Lossless Master Audio track. The release will also contain all the bonus materials from the DVD version.

“The Rocker” arrives in style on January 27. Tickets will be $29.99 for the DVD version and $39.99 for the Blu-Ray version.
