The first batch of Criterion titles came to Blu-ray with minimal fanfare. The good news is that the company is going forward with at least one new release. El Norte is coming in January.

Brother and sister Enrique and Rosa flee persecution at home in Guatemala and journey north, through Mexico and on to the United States, with the dream of starting a new life.
The disc will contain a new audio commentary with director Gregory Nava, the featurettes In the Service of the Shadows: The Making of “El Norte” and The Journal of Diego Rodriguez Silve along with a photo gallery, a theatrical trailer and improved subtitles.

The disc will arrive on January 20th.
