300 returns as a Limited Collector’s Edition

Warner Home Video has just added 300: Limited Collector’s Edition to their release line-up, giving everyone who hasn’t bought this title another reason to take a closer look.

The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. Experience history at swordpoint. And moviemaking with a cutting edge.

Coming as a 3-disc DVD set, this release will contain the movie in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. As extras you will find a Commentary Track on the first disc, featuring director Zack Snyder, writer Kurt Johnstad and director of photography Larry Fong.

The second disc of the set is filled with bonus materials, such as the Featurette “The 300 – Fact or Fiction?” Running 25 minutes in this featurette, historians, Authors and filmmakers reveal how much of the film was based on fact.

Another featurette included is “Who Were The Spartans: The Warriors of 300” that touches on the customs and ways of life of the Spartan that weren’t explicitly shown in 300 but were used by the actors and filmmakers to help build their characters.

Frank Miller Tapes, a 13-minute featurette is also included, following the career of one of the most innovative graphic novelists of our time.It will show how the outspoken Miller continued to push his limits to realize his epic graphic novel, 300, in the world of theatrical film.

“Making of 300” is a brief promo clip taking a look at the production in the form of rapid fire stills from the first day of production to the last.

The disc is rounded out by Deleted Scenes with introduction by Zack Snyder and about 20-minutes worth of Webisodes.

On the third disc of the set you will find the new Documentary “To The Hot Gates: A Legend Retold”, a comprehensive and dynamic 30-minute description of the ancient legend, from Frank Miller’s graphic novel to the creation of Zack Snyder’s epic movie.

“300: Limited Collector’s Edition” comes on November 18 in a special packaging, as shown above, and can be yours for $49.92.
