Young Frankenstein finds love

Not only is Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment releasing Mel Brooks“ classic Young Frankenstein, it’s going to be a very complete release.

Mel Brooks” crazy tribute to Mary Shelley’s classic novel pokes hilarious fun at just about every Frankenstein movie ever made. Summoned by a will to his late grandfather’s castle in Transylvania, young Dr. Frankenstein soon discovers the scientist’s step-by-step manual explaining how to bring a corpse to life. Assisted by the hunchback Igor and the curvaceous Inga, he creates a monster who only wants to be loved.

The set comes with many previously released extras including trailers, TV spots, still galleries, interviews with Marty Feldman, Gene Wilder and Cloris Leachman, deleted scenes, outtakes, a featurette on the making of the film and an audio commentary with Mel Brooks. But many new Blu-ray features are coming for the first time. BonusView will be used for a special called Inside The Lab, the featurettes It’s Alive! and Transylvannian Lullaby, 17 new deleted scenes in HD, interactive games and an isolated score.

Quite a release from Fox. The disc arrives on October 7th for $39.98.
