The Original Faces Of Death in high definition?

MPI Home Entertainment has just announced the release of The Original Faces Of Death on Blu-Ray Disc, scheduling the title for October.

While I am all for high definition release, of course, this 1978 mock documentary is anything but high def caliber. Consisting of poorly shot footage that is of low quality to begin with – and by that I mean grainy footage with little contrast, extremely blurred shots and virtually no color to speak of – how can a film like this possibly benefit from a high definition transfer?

I guess we will know this fall when “The Original Faces Of Death” arrives on Blu-Ray on October 7 with a $29.98 sticker price.
