Robert De Niro, Kevin Costner, Del Close and the rest are making the changeover from HD-DVD to Blu-Ray Disc this summer with the Blu-ray release of The Untouchables from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The critics and public agree. Brian De Palma’s “The Untouchables” is a must-see masterpiece – glorious, fierce, larger-than-life depiction of the mob warlord who ruled Prohibition-era Chicago… and the law enforcer who vowed to bring him down. This classic confrontation between good and evil and stars Kevin Costner as federal agent Eliot Ness, Robert De Niro as gangland kingpin Al Capone and Sean Connery as Malone, the cop who teaches Ness how to beat the mob: shoot fast and shoot first.

The Blu-Ray Disc will carry a 1080p widescreen transfer with DTS-EX 6.1 sound, as well as a Dolby Digital EX track. As extras the disc will contain the Featurettes “The Script, The Cast,” “Production Stories,” “Reinventing The Genre,” “The Classic,” and “The Men.” All featurettes will be presented in standard definition. Also included on the disc is the movie’s Trailer in high definition.
