Well that was a much shorter wait than last time. Eleven years ago, Warner announced The Shawshank Redemption as one of their early titles, but various issues held the drama up for years. Hopefully history won’t repeat itself with the announcement of the film on Blu-ray later this year.

In this story by Stephen King, a prominent banker unjustly convicted of murder spends many years in the Shawshank prison. He is befriended by a convict who knows the ropes and helps him to cope with the frightning realities of prison life.

Very little is known about the title which is still several months off, but it will arrive on November 4th with a suggested retail price of $28.99.
