Starring Sigourney Weaver, Carrie-Anne Moss and Alan Rickman, Genius Products is preparing a DVD release of Snow Cake, a poignant drama about love, loss and overcoming obstacles.

“Snow Cake” relays what happens in the aftermath of a young woman’s death. Recently released from prison, Alex (Alan Rickman) offers a ride to a hitchhiker, only to have her killed instantly when their car endures a brutal accident. Alex then approaches the girl’s mother Linda (Sigourney Weaver), whom he discovers she is autistic. As events unfold that change Alex’s life change life, including a romantic relationship with Linda’s sexy, independent neighbor, Maggie (Carrie-Anne Moss), Alex confronts his past and both the sadness and anger that have built up within him.

No extras have been announced for this release but “Snow Cake” will be in stores on September 11 with a $19.95 sticker price.
