Dawn Of The Dead goes high def!

Universal Home Entertainment has just announced a number of new HD-DVD titles, slated for release in August, including the 2004 remake of Geroge A. Romero’s Dawn Of The Dead.

Packed with more blood, more gore, and more bone-chilling, jaw-dropping thrills, “Dawn of the Dead” Unrated Director’s Cut is the version too terrifying to be shown in theaters! When a mysterious virus turns people into mindless, flesh-eating zombies, a handful of survivors wage a desperate, last-stand battle to stay alive…and human.

?ffering up a 1080p high definition transfer of the film, the disc will also contain a lossless 5.1 Dolby Digital TrueHD track, as well as Dolby Digital Plus tracks in English and French.

All the extras from the DVD version are brought over to the HDS-DVD version, such as Zack Snyder’s Commentary Track, a selection of Deleted Scenes, Special Report News Coverage Andy’s last horrific moments in The Lost Tape and much more.

“Dawn Of The Dead” will be in stores on August 28 for $29.98.
