As announced earlier, Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm is coming to DVD in April courtesy of Anchor Bay Home Entertainment. We have now been able to obtain the complete technical specs and contents of the release for you.

The film will be presented in its original 1.85:1 widescreen aspect ratio in an anamorphic transfer and will be complemented by three audio track options. First there is a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital track, but the release will also contain a DTS 5.1 track and a Dolby Surround.

In terms of extras you will find a Commentary Track by Don Coscarelli and Stars Michael Baldwin, Angus Scrimm and Bill Thornbury on the release, as well as the 2005 feature-length Documentary Phantasmagoria” which takes a close look at the “Phantasm” phenomenon and gives a very intimate look at the making of these films as well as the obstacles that had to be overcome.

Also included on the release is a Behind The Scenes Featurette as well as the Featurette “Actors Having A Ball.” Look out for a selection of Deleted Scenes also as well as a 1979 Phantasm Interview and the 1988 Fangoria TV Commercial. The release will be rounded out by the 1989 Angus Scrimm Convention Appearance and a selection of Trailers and TV Spots.

As mentioned before “Phantasm” will be in stores on April 10 for only $19.99.
