More Spider-Man than ever

In the tradition of the popular X-Men DVDs. Spider-Man 2 gets revisited from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment with Spider-Man 2.1, an extended version being released to coincide with the third Spidy film coming up this spring.

Peter Parker is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as college student and a superhuman crime fighter. Peter’s life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled “Doc Ock.” When Doc Ock kidnaps MJ, Spider-Man must swing back into action.

The new DVD features 8 minutes of new footage, but sadly, the features on the disc are centered around this new addition and the subsequent sequel, but the features from the original DVD are absent. Including on this new DVD are an introduction with Grant Curtis and Avi Arad, a featurette on the new footage, Commentary by Laura Ziskin and Alvin Sargent an d a peek at Spider-Man 3.

The disc will be priced at $19.94 and is due to arrive on April 17th.
