Lionsgate turns The Descent into a 50GB Blu-Ray version

Home Media Retailing reports this morning that Lionsgate has big plans for their indie horror flick The Descent which will hit Blu-Ray later this month, turning it into a 50GB Blu-Ray Disc.

“The Descent” is a horror thriller bout a group of female cave explorers who become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.

The Blu-Ray version will offer the theatrical version as well as an unrated cut on the same disc. It will feature an uncompressed 6.1 PCM audio track as well as a number of cool bonus materials, such as Cast and Crew Commentary Tracks on both cuts of the film, Deleted Scenes and Outtakes. Also included are Alternate Endings and Biographies.. Further included are a set of Exclusive Featurettes that are not part of the DVD version, entitled “The Beauty Of Bulk,” “Men Of Super Club” and “On Set Shenanigans.” The Featurette “At Work With Lon” will be culled from the DVD however. Another Blu-Ray Exclusive will be the Feature “Caving: A High Definition Experience” giving viewers a first-hand look at both the beautiful and claustrophobic confines of underground caves.

The Blu-Ray version of “The Descent” can be yours to own on December 26 for a steep $39.99.
