Universal is preparing a new 2-disc special edition of Brokeback Mountain for release early next year.

The new set will contain the film in anamorphic widescreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS. A photo gallery and six featurettes will be on the set including A Groundbreaking Success, On Being a Cowboy, Directing from the Heart: Ang Lee, From Script to Screen: Interviews with Larry McMurtry & Diana Ossana, Sharing the Story: The Making of Brokeback Mountain and Music from the Mountain.

Coming on January 23rd, the DVD will be available along with a DVD/HD-DVD Combo.
