Well, the facelift for Star Trek begins next week, for better or for worse. And More than likely when the show runs its course in two years we’ll see new high definition releases of the series in some format. I suppose we’ll have to wait to see if the unaltered versions will be available as well. Meanwhile, the production on Star Trek XI is gering up so next Christmas will likely see a DVD release of the next Trek film. Trek continues to be on the front.
Who would’ve thought that would be the case when the show premiered 40 years ago today? The low-rated show premiered after Daniel Boone on NBC on September 8th, 1966. Happy Birthday Star Trek.
