Ahoy Me Mateys, Pirates announced in good time

Buena Vista Home Entertainment be spillin’ their guts on details for the DVD release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. And they jolly well made the announcement today; on National Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Two versions of the film will be coming to DVD; a standard release and a two disc special edition. The single disc version comes in anamorphic widescreen and with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. An audio commentary from the writer and a blooper reel are also included. The special edition also includes the featurettes Charting The Return, According To Plan: The Harrowing and True Story of Dead Man’s Chest , Captain Jack: From Head To Toe, Mastering The Blade: Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly, Jack Davenport, Meet Davy Jones: Anatomy Of A Legend, Creating The Kraken, Dead Men Tell New Tales: Re-Imagineering The Attraction, Jerry Bruckheimer: A Producer’s Photo Diary, Fly On The Set: The Bone Cage and Pirates on Main Street: The Dead Man’s Chest Premiere.

Both versions are arriving on December 5th. The standard edition is priced at $29.99 and the special edition is five dollars more at $34.99. Also keep in mind, A Blu-Ray version has been confirmed for early 2007 with Blu exclusive features, but no further details are available now.
