Fox announces first Blu-Ray titles

This morning, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has finally made good on its promise to throw its exclusive support behind the Blu-Ray format by announcing a number of high definition releases.

On November 21 we will see the Blu-Ray version of Ice Age: The Meltdown, day and date with the DVD release. Also coming is the Director’s Cut of Ridley Scott’s Kingdom Of Heaven, which will become the industry’s first 50GB dual-layer Blu-Ray disc in order to hold the entire film and supplements in the best possible presentation quality. “Kingdom Of Heaven” will be in stores on November 14.

Also coming on November 14 are Behind Enemy Lines, Fantastic Four, Kiss the Dragon, The Omen (666), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Speed and The Transporter.

MGM Home Entertainment titles are also distributed by Fox now, and the studio also announced a number of MGM Blu-Ray titles, such as Rocky and Bulletproof Monk for release on December 5 as well as The Usual Suspects and Windtalkers on November 28.

All titles will carry a $39.98 suggested retail price.
