Sony Pictures Home Entertainment reveals Bugsy: Extended Cut

We just got word that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing an extended cut of Bugsy in October.

“Bugsy” is the true story of legendary New York mob boss Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel (Warren Beatty). Visiting Hollywood “on business, ” the reckless and womanizing Bugsy is quickly seduced by the glamour of Tinseltown and actress Virginia Hill (Anette Bening). A cold-blooded killer who dreamed of Hollywood stardom, Bugsy leaves his wife and kids indefinitely to spend his time on movie lots and at Hollywood extravaganzas, contemplating his own potential stardom. When a vision to transform the dry Nevada desert leads Bugsy to create the gambling mecca of Las Vegas, he’s got it all . . . until he falls for the one woman who wants more.

The release will come as a 2-disc Special Edition, that also includes a good number of extras, such as 13 minutes of additional footage as well as a Bugsy Siegel “Screen Test” Video Montage. Also included is “the road To Damascus: The Reinvention Of Bugsy Siegel,” an all-new Documentary featuring interviews with Barry Levinson, Jim Toback, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Ben Kingsley and Elliott Gould. The release is rounded out by Deleted Scenes and Filmographies.

This “Bugsy: Extended Edition” will be unrated and running 155 minutes when it hits stores on October 3 with a $24.96 sticker price.
