Transformers: The Movie hits the two decade mark and celebrates with a 20th Anniversary Edition DVD from Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

Sony has confirmed that they working on a slew of features right now, but don’t have the final list yet. They’re planning big things for this one. Expect a full release of extras to come around the time of ComicCon this year. The big question on most Transformers fans’ minds will be the possibility of a widescreen transfer for the first time on DVD. We’re going to do our best to get more information on that front as soon as it becomes available. Keep your fingers crossed on that one.

No specific release date has been set, but the disc will arrive in November of this year along with a new line of Transformers toys harkening back to the Tranformers of old – the ones that came with tech specs and fought epic battles in the sand box.
