As announced earlier, V for Vendetta is coming down the pike from Warner Home Entertainment. A little more detail on extras and a 2-disc special edition is now available as well.

Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V for Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey who is rescued from a dire situation by a masked vigilante (Weaving) known only as “V.” Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he detonates two London landmarks and takes over the government-controlled airwaves, urging his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V’s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself – and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with fear, cruelty and corruption.

The single disc version will carry the film in seperate fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen versions along with the featurette Freedom Forever: Making V for Vendettta. The special edition DVD will also carry the additional featurettes Designing the Near Future, Remember, Remember: Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot and England Prevailes: V for Vendetta and the New Wave in Comics. Also on the disc is the Cat Power song played against a montage of footage from the film and a theatreical trailer, an easter egg and the SNL digital short.

Both DVDs street August 1st and are priced at $28.98 and $34.99.
