Warner Home Entertainment is releasing two new titles on HD-DVD in the coming months; Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven and Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket.

In and of itself, great news for fans of the films. But without a doubt, discussions will raise again as to the controversial history of Kubrick’s transfers. Info will be coming quickly on the aspect ratio of the film as well as whether or not it has been cleaned up. The idea of a 20 year old transfer going directly to HD-DVD seems a bit unconventional.

Both discs arrive on May 16th from Warner.
