The Princess Bride is beautiful again

Rob Reiner’s fairy tale The Princess Bride makes its way to DVD for the third time as a new two-disc special edition from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The new set will be available in the Buttercup edition and the Dread Pirate Edition. It is unclear if there is any difference in these editions other than packaging, but most likely they will be the same, of course.

The new set includes the film with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack as well as the featurettes “Dread Pirate Roberts: Greatest Legend of the Seven Seas” and Miraculous Make-up, the documentaries Love is like a Storybook Story and As You Wish: The Story of The Princess Bride, a Trivia Game, Cary Elwes’ home movies, the original 1987 Featurette and Making-Of Documentary, and Audio Commentary with Rob Reiner, a second commentary with author William Goldman and a Theatrical Trailer plus an 8-page Booklet.

The set arrives on June 13th. A $24.96 suggested retail price is on both versions.
