Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the entire fifth season of the cult sitcom Married… With Children this summer.

Developed as an effective counterpoint to television’s happiest (and then highest-rated) family sitcom “The Cosby Show, ” “Married… with Children” premiered on April 5, 1987, changing the face of family sitcoms forever, lasting for 267 episodes over 11 seasons. During this fifth season, “Married… with Children” reached its 100th episode milestone.

This year finds the Bundy family – loser Al (Ed O’Neill), slovenly wife Peg (Katey Sagal), ditsy tramp of a daughter Kelly (Christina Applegate), and sexually frustrated son Bud (David Faustino) – continuing to live their lives in complete disharmony. Kelly interviews for a job, Al becomes the neighborhood stud, Bud gets into a car accident, Peg takes up ballroom dancing, and the hapless Marcy (Amanda Bearse) marries handsome con artist Jefferson (Ted McGinley).

The 3-disc DVD set will feature the original fullframe presentation of the 25 episodes of the season with an English stereo audio track. Sadly no notable extras are being included on the release when it hits retail stores on June 20 with a suggested sticker price of $39.95.
