Kingdom Of Heaven comes as a Director’s Cut

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just unveiled the full details about the upcoming release of Kingdom Of Heaven: Director’s Cut, which is scheduled for a DVD release on May 23.

Director Ridley Scott contributes generously to this extraordinary Collector’s Edition of “Kingdom of Heaven” as he delivers his Director’s Cut of the film and hours of hot new extras, including a six-part tour from conception to completion of filmmaking. An epic movie extraordinaire, “Kingdom of Heaven” stars Orlando Bloom as Balian, a Jerusalem blacksmith who has lost his family – and his faith. But when his father (Liam Neeson) shows him his destiny, Balian vows to defend his country, and in the process, falls in love, becomes a formidable leader, and steps forever into history.

The features included on this 4-disc DVD set are an Introduction by Ridley Scott, as well as a Commentary Track by Ridley Scott, writer William Monahan, executive producer
Lisa Ellzey, film editor Dody Dorn, visual effects supervisor Wes Sewell and first assistant director Adam Sommer. For best presentation quality the lengthy feature film itself is coming on two discs, also including a DTS sound track, that further contain additional Engineer’s Guide Story Notes.

The other two discs are filled to the brim with Documentaries and Featurettes such as “The Path To Redemption,” a multi-segmented documentary covering aspects such as a Location Scout Gallery, Story Notes, First Draft Screenplay, Featurettes, Screen Tests, Rehearsal Footage, Costume Galleries, more featurettes on weapons, and the shoot, and the voice coaching, as well as Storyboard Comparisons, Photo Galleries, Deleted and Alternate Scenes, Visual Effects Featurettes, Sound FX Featurettes, the Press Junket, Premiere Footage, Trailer and Spots and much, much more.

The release will be in stores on May 23 for $34.98.
