The foundation of Alchoholics Anonymous was not an easy journey for founder Bill W. James Woods stars in the story of the man in My Name is Bill W., coming to DVD from Warner Home Video.

My Name is Bill W. is a compelling biographical television film that tells the story of an extraordinary friendship that developed into the foundation of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.). Bill W. is a successful stock broker whose life falls apart after the stock market crash of the 1920’s. He and his wife Lois must come to grips with his depression and downward spiraling alcoholism. In his quest for recovery, Bill forms a support group with fellow alcoholic, Dr. Bob, which eventually leads to the formation of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Several interviews with James Woods, James Garner, Bill Borchert (screenwriter) and Peter Duchow (executive producer) are included on the disc which arrives on June 6th with a suggested retail price of $19.98.
