With the release of HD-DVD just weeks away, serveral customers are gearing up to purchase the first order. But it isn’t going to be easy. Pre-orders are hard to come by for the high definition discs which are currently not available for pre-order on Amazon.com. The only major online retailer for the format was Wal-Mart, who has recently removed all pre-order links for HD-DVD claiming that the product “may be available in the future.”

Hopefully, consumers will be able to pick up the discs when they arrive, but ensuring a copy is becoming a tricky proposition.
