The Young Riders deliver

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and MGM Home Entertainment have gone back to the days of the Pny Express with the release of Season 1 of the 1990s western series The Young Riders on DVD this spring.

The series focuses on a group of young Express riders based at a waystation in Sweetwater, Kansas. Running the station is ex-Texas Ranger and all-around eccentric, Teaspoon Hunter, along with Emma, the Station’s cook, housekeeper and mother hen. The riders included the future western legends William “Buffalo Bill” Cody and James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok, as well as Ike, a mute, Buck, a half-White/half-Kiowa scout and “The Kid”, a quiet Southerner. Rounding out the all-male group of riders is Lou, a young woman living and working with the riders disguised as a boy.

The set will be pretty straightforward and lite on features, but will contain all twenty-four episodes of the first season.

The set arrives on March 21st and will carry a suggested retail price of $59.95.
