Rock fans will be able to enjoy Gillan on DVD in April

Former “Deep Purple” front man Ian Gillan is coming to DVD soon, courtesy of Music Video Distributors and Angel Air. Fans of the vocalist will be able to revisit one of his live shows on the DVD release of Gillan – Live Edinburgh 1980.

This incredible performance of Ian Gillan and his band “Gillan” was filmed for Scottish TV (STV) in 1980: Their most succesful year. The album “Glory Road” entered the UK charts at Number 3 and they had just returned from the USA from doing what they did best-playing live. The set list for this release contains tracks such as “Unchain Your Brain, ” “Trouble,” “If You Believe Me,” “Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.),” and “No Easy Way.” As a bonus, the release will also contain archival footage of “Vengeance,” “Smoke On The Water,” and “Sleeping On The Job.”

The release will also include some additional material, such as a performance of “Cannonball” by G.M.T. (featuring ex-Gillan members Bernie Torme, John McCoy and Robin Guynew), In-depth Interviews with Bernie Torme, John McCoy, Colin Towns and Mick Underwood, as well as a history of Gillan by Joe Geesin, and a Photo Gallery.

“Gillan – Live Edinburgh 1980” will be found on store shelves on April 4 for $19.95.
