Red Dwarf VII

BBC Home Entertainment has included some hidden interactivity on their release of “Red Dwarf VII.” Here is how to handle it.

Insert the third disc of the DVD set in your player and on the Main Menu highlight the “Subtitles” menu entry. Now press the “Left” arrow key on your remote control to highlight the blue ammo dispenser panel. Press the “Enter” key now and you will pick up the Bazookoid. Aim it at the door panel and then press the “Enter” key on your remote control to fire it. Nothing will happen because the blue ammo dispenser is for blanks.

However, when you highlight the “Subtitles” menu entry and press the “Left” arrow key on your remote control, followed by the “Down” arrow key the red ammo dispenser panel will be highlighted. Now press the “Enter” key to pick up the Bazookoid and aim it at the door panel. Make sure the left-hand light on the Bazookoid is on and then press the “Enter” key to fire. As a result you will now get to see Chloë Annett’s audition reel.

Let’s go through the same routine again. Highlight the “Subtitles” menu entry and press the “Left” arrow key on your remote control, followed by the “Down” arrow key to highlight the red ammo dispenser panel. Press the “enter” key again to pick up the Bazookoid and this time make sure the right-hand light is on when you press the “Enter” key to fire the Bazookoid. Now you will now see a Red Dwarf trailer voiced by “Epideme” actor Gary Martin.
