Although The X-Files forged the paradigmn by which television DVD sets still follow, the season sets have been historically very expensive. Recent news that the sets would finally drop in price was great news for fans, but there’s a bit of unadvertised bad news folks.

The new less expensive sets of the series are all one disc short, removing any of the supplemental material from the final disc (sets with episodes on the final disc have squeezed the episodes onto the earlier discs.) So for those with a hope for all the extras should start looking now as the higher priced, full sets will likely start dissapearing from shelves soon.
