The Ewings return in Knots Landing this March

The second longest running drama in TV history and the cultural phenomenon that defined nighttime television is finally coming to DVD this March with Warner Home Video’s release of Knots Landing: The Complete First Season. The show depicts the lives and loves of five suburban families, who live in an always interesting, upper-middle class Southern California cul-de-sac.

A spin-off of “Dallas,” “Knots Landing” explored social issues that many other shows avoided including episodes on illegal and prescription drug abuse, abortion, homelessness, the environment and illiteracy .The actors were vocal about incorporating these issues in their storylines to raise awareness and often volunteered their personal time to several charities including homeless shelters and homes for abused women.

This 5-disc DVD release will contain all 13 episodes from the show’s first season as well as a Commentary Track by the cast on two episodes. Also included is The featurette “Gary and Val: Together Again” in which the show’s stars Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark reminisce about the series.

“Knots Landing” will be in stores on March 28 and carry a $39.98 suggested retail price.
