Warner Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have long had disagreements over digital formats. The Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD debate is a reminder of the now ancient competition for approval from the DVD forum back in 1996 for the final DVD specs. Sony’s proprietary UMD discs for the PSP gaming system, while a niche market has finally gotten the support of Sony rival Warner making it the last studio to commit to the miniature format.
