The Man With The Golden Arm sees a Special Edition

Hart Sharp Video is preparing a 50th Anniversary Special Edition for the classic The Man With The Golden Arm for release in October.

Starring Frank Sinatra, Kim Novak and Eleanor Parker, this film tells the story of a heroin addict, played by Sinatra in an Academy Award-nominated performance, who tries to clean up his act.

This Special Edition will feature a remastered video in the movie’s original fullframe version. A new 5.1 channel dolby Digital remix is also included as well as the film’s original mono audio track.

As extras the DVD will contain a Commentary Track by film historian Ken Barnes as well as an exclusive Archive Interview with Frank Sinatra. Further the DVD will contain an Interview with composer Elmer Bernstein talking about the music he provided for this classic masterpiece.

A Stills and Poster Gallery is also included, as well as an Audio Visual Montage. The release is rounded out by Cast Biographies and Production Notes.

“The Man With The Golden Arm” will be in stores on October 18 and carry a $24.99 suggested retail price.
