Based on the horrifying 1953 classic, House Of Wax arrives on DVD in October from Warner Home Video. We’ll have to see how this entry in the recent flurry of remakes is faring as the studio creates a DVD release filled with extras.
Six college-age friends on a road trip to one of the biggest college football games of the year takes a turn for the worse and are sidetracked into an eerie backwater town, Ambrose. Once there, they are drawn to Ambrose’s main attraction – Trudy’s House of Wax, which is filled with the wax-coated corpses. Now the group must find a way out of Ambrose before they too become permanent exhibits in the “House of Wax.”
The DVD will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer of the movie – a pan & scan version is sold separately – and come with a Gag Reel. A Visual Effects Featurette is also included on the DVD, as well as a look at the Design of the movie in “Wax On.” As an added bonus, the release will also contain an Alternate Opening of the film.
“House of Wax” will be available in stores on October 25 and carry a $28.98 retail price.
