The Muppet theatrical outings have been somewhat lost in the DVD shuffle over the years. With the upcoming 50th anniversary of Kermit the Frog (yes, really), Buena Vista Home Entertainment will be releasing special edition films of The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island.

The special editions will be remastered from the earlier DVD releases of Muppet Movie and Great Muppet Caper, and the latter two Muppet films will be released for the first time in anamorphic widescreen (all four titles will be released in both widescreen and fullscreen). No extra features have yet been announced.

Despite the mysterious absence of Muppets Take Manhattan, the four films will be available on November 29th – each with a suggested retail price of $19.99.
