As we announced earlier, Warner Home Video will release The Polar Express on November 22. The studio now announced the details and specs, and reveals that two DVD versions of the film will be available. The first one is a Movie-Only Version with no extras at all while the second one is a 2-disc Special Edition with plenty of bonus materials.

Get up, get on, and get ready for the ride of your life! It’s Christmas Eve, and you’re about to roller-coaster up and down mountains, slip-slide over ice fields, teeter across mile-high bridges and be served hot chocolate by singing waiters more astonishing than any you can imagine. You’re on “The Polar Express!”

Tom Hanks stars in and Robert Zemeckis directs this instant holiday classic filmed in dazzling performance capture animation that makes every moment magical. “Seeing is believing,” says a mysterious hobo who rides the rails with you. You’ll see wonders. And you’ll believe. All aboooooard!

The Special Edition will contain an Additional Song, the never-before-heard “Smokey and Steamer.” “You Look Familiar” is a Featurette about Tom Hanks’ 5 unique roles in the film, how each character was different, and what it took for him to bring each one to life.

“A Genuine Ticket to Ride” is a behind-the-scenes Featurette that will also be part of the DVD. As other extras, the release will contain featurettes on aspects such as “Performance Capture,” “Virtual Camera,” “Hair and Wardrobe,” “Creating the North Pole” and the film’s music.

Then there is “True Inspiration An Author’s Adventure” a featurette in which Chris Van Allsburg discusses his artistic background and how he conceived the idea for “The Polar Express” book. Coming up next is the Music Video for Josh Groban’s “Believe”, complete with its own behind-the-scenes featurette.

Polar Express Challenges are 2 menu challenges that kids can play, Meet the Snow Angels, a number of Easter Eggs and the movie’s Trailer will round out the release.

The movie-only DVD will be available at $28.98 SRP on a single disc in widescreen and full frame formats. The Special Edition will be available at $29.95 SRP in collectable rainbow foil packaging on a two-disc DVD in widescreen format.
